A few weeks ago I was invited by Stefanie Hamblen of Hogtown Homegrown and Val Leitner of Blue Oven Kitchens to go to Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings historical home and cook in Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings turn of the century kitchen. Of course I said yes! That morning was a test flight for “The Baxter’s Rations”, a cooking program for the public about Cracker food and the food in the Yearling on March 22nd.
Now Stefanie has written an article in Gainesville Magazine about our cooking adventure to advertise the program about Cracker cooking in March. There’s even a picture with the three of us!
If you’re interested in the historical foods and cooking of Florida, Stefanie has included several awesome recipes in the Gainesville Magazine article. Please join us at Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings State Park in Citra on March 22nd.
