First Tangerine Harvest

The signs of the seasons changing were smacking me over the head all weekend. The first camellia bloomed in our yard. I had my first sweater day. Greens are back at the farmers market. It was actually too chilly to leave the screen door open in the office this evening. It hasn’t rained in over two weeks.

And this morning we had our first ripe tangerines.

My daughter and I picked four dozen ripe tangerines this morning. Everyone we saw today received an armload. There are tangerine peels sprinkled liberally throughout the house. There’s a neat pile on the table right next to this laptop as I eat yet another tangerine.

There are 8 more citrus trees in the back and all of them are going to bear heavily. Looks like I’d better start gathering marmalade recipes.
