Persimmons and getting back to normal

Today was the first time this month I’ve been able to get to the farmer’s market. Getting back into our normal Saturday morning grocery shopping routine is so nice.

A very colorful haul for late summer/early autumn

Honey, japanese eggplant, red peppers, goat’s milk kefir, green onions, garlic chives, tomatoes, cucumbers, black muscadine grapes, spicy bush basil, yellow squash, shiitake mushrooms, and… persimmons!

The most exciting part was buying my first local fuyu persimmons of the year! I ate the first one in the car for breakfast.

First persimmons!
